How to Play Batak
Description
Bid the tricks you will take alone, name the trump, and face the other three on your own.
Objective
Bid the number of tricks you will take alone, name the trump, and make good on it.
Setup
A standard 52-card deck for four players, thirteen cards each.
Rules
Bidding starts at six and rises. Unlike partnership trick games, the winning bidder plays alone against the other three.
The bidder names the trump suit and leads the first trick.
Follow suit if you can; otherwise trump or discard. Highest trump takes the trick, or highest card of the suit led.
Winning
Make the bid and you score it. Fall short and the bid is subtracted instead.
The three defenders each score for the tricks they personally take. Play to an agreed target.
