How to Play Casino
Description
Capture cards from the table by matching or building — but watch out, your builds can be stolen.
Also known as: Cassino
Objective
Capture valuable cards from the shared table and score more points than your opponent.
Setup
Two players (best), or up to four. Deal four cards to each player, and four cards face up to the table.
Rules
On your turn, either capture, build, or trail.
Capture by playing a card from your hand that matches a table card's number, or that adds up to the value of one or more table cards combined.
Build by combining a card from your hand with table cards into a stack worth a specific number — you're committing to capture that stack later with a matching card.
No capture available? Trail — add a card face up to the table instead.
Once your hand of four runs out, everyone gets four more cards from the stock, with no new cards added to the table, and play continues.
Winning
Whoever made the last capture of the game claims anything left on the table.
Score points for capturing the most cards overall, the most spades, the ten of diamonds, the two of spades, each Ace, and each sweep — clearing the entire table in one capture.
First to a target score (commonly 11 or 21) wins.
