How to Play Concan
Description
Sets, runs, and a race to lay them all down. The Middle Eastern branch of the rummy family, played under pressure.
Objective
Meld your hand into sets and runs and go out before your opponents can.
Setup
A standard deck, dealt ten cards to each player. Turn one card face up to start the discard pile.
Rules
On your turn, draw one card from the stock or take the top of the discard pile, then discard one to finish.
Melds are three or more cards of the same rank, or three or more in sequence within a suit.
Melds are laid down face up as you make them, and you may extend melds already on the table.
Winning
Go out by melding your whole hand and making a final discard.
Everyone else scores penalty points for the cards left unmelded in their hand.
