How to Play Jackaroo
Description
Cards move your marbles, a Jack sends someone home, and your partner's pieces are as much of a hazard as your opponent's.
Objective
Move all four of your marbles from your base around the board and safely into your home row.
Setup
A cross-shaped board with four bases and four home rows, plus a standard deck. Play in partnerships of two, seated opposite each other.
Each player is dealt four or five cards depending on the round.
Rules
Cards move your marbles rather than being played for their own sake. An Ace or King releases a marble from your base onto the board.
Number cards move a marble that many spaces forward. A Seven can be split across two marbles, a Four moves backwards, and a Jack swaps any two marbles on the board.
Landing on an opponent's marble sends it back to their base. Landing on your partner's does the same, so timing matters.
Winning
Marbles must enter the home row by exact count — overshoot and you cannot go in.
The first partnership to get all eight of their marbles home wins together.
