How to Play Pit
Description
A simultaneous shouting trading game where everyone trades commodity cards at once. Corner the market in one commodity and ring the bell. Loudest table wins.
Objective
Corner the market by collecting all nine cards of a single commodity — as fast and loudly as you can.
Setup
Three to eight players, each dealt nine cards from a deck built specifically for the group size — one full nine-card suit per player.
Everyone gets thirty seconds to sort their hand and quietly decide which commodity they'll chase.
Rules
There's no turn order — everyone trades at once, as loudly and fast as they like.
Offer one to four cards of the same commodity, held face down, calling out how many you're offering.
Trade with anyone offering the same number back — swap blind, without either side revealing what they're trading away.
Keep trading and re-offering until you land nine matching cards.
Winning
The instant you hold all nine cards of one commodity, reveal your hand and call it — that round ends immediately.
Score the point value marked on whatever commodity you cornered.
First player to reach the agreed target score (often 500) wins the match.
