How to Play Rummy
Description
Draw, meld, and discard — build sets and runs and lay them on the table before anyone else does. Go out first and you bank whatever is left in everyone else's hands.
Objective
Be first to reach 100 points across hands by emptying your hand and scoring the cards left in your opponents'.
Setup
Each player gets six cards.
The rest form the draw pile, with one card turned face-up to start the discard pile.
Rules
Draw from the draw pile or discard pile.
Lay down any sets of three or more matching cards (same number, or same suit in sequence) you can form.
You can also add matching cards onto sets already on the table — yours or anyone else's.
Keep at least one card in hand to discard, then discard to end your turn.
Winning
First to empty their hand wins the round.
They score the total value of every card left in their opponents' hands.
Scores build across hands — first to 100 wins the match.
