How to Play Seven-Card Stud
Description
Seven cards dealt in stages, some face up for the table to see. Read what's showing, bet into what you think your opponents hold, and make the best five-card hand from your seven.
Objective
Build the best five-card hand from seven cards dealt over the course of the hand.
Setup
Two to eight players. Everyone antes into the pot.
Each player gets two cards face down and one face up.
Rules
Whoever has the lowest face-up card must make a forced opening bet (the bring-in) to kick off betting.
Four more cards are dealt one at a time — three face up, one final one face down — with a round of betting after each.
By the end you'll have seven cards total: three hidden, four exposed.
Winning
Whoever's left after the final betting round reveals their best five-card hand from their seven — highest hand wins the pot.
If everyone else folds first, the last player standing wins without a showdown.
