How to Play Texas Hold'em
Description
Two cards in hand, five on the table, and a pot that grows one betting round at a time. Make the best five-card hand from any combination of yours and the board.
Objective
Win chips by building the best five-card hand, or by getting everyone else to fold.
Setup
Each player gets two private hole cards, face down.
Two players post forced bets before the deal — the small blind and the big blind — and the dealer button moves one seat clockwise each hand.
Rules
A round of betting happens before any community cards are dealt.
Three community cards are dealt face up (the flop), followed by a betting round.
A fourth community card is dealt (the turn), then another round.
A fifth and final community card is dealt (the river), then a final round.
On each round you can fold, call, or raise — using any combination of your two hole cards and the five community cards, up to your best five-card hand.
Winning
Whoever's left after the final betting round reveals their hands — best five-card hand wins the pot.
If everyone else folds before that point, the last player standing wins the pot without a showdown.
Identical hands split the pot.
