How to Play The Pretender After Dark
Description
One of you still doesn't know the category. The difference is that this time, the category is the kind that makes not knowing a lot more obvious — and a lot more entertaining.
Objective
Plays exactly like The Pretender — insiders identify the pretenders, pretenders bluff their way through — but the categories go somewhere the standard game doesn't.
Setup
Deal roles exactly as in the base game: most players get a real category, one or two get nothing and must bluff.
Categories are drawn from an After Dark list mixed with a selection of standard ones, so you never know what's coming.
Rules
Going around the table, each player gives exactly one spoken answer out loud.
The table opens up for discussion, then everyone votes simultaneously through the app.
Winning
Insiders win if every pretender is correctly identified.
Pretenders win if any insider collects more votes than a pretender, or if the vote ties.
