How to Play Tonj
Description
A short deck, quick tricks, and no room to hide a bad card.
Objective
Take tricks with a short, sharp deck where every card matters.
Setup
A shortened deck, dealt evenly among two to four players.
Rules
Play one card each to a trick, following the suit led where you can.
The highest card of the suit led takes the trick unless a trump is played, in which case the highest trump wins.
The winner of each trick leads the next.
Winning
Score by tricks taken across the hand.
Play continues over an agreed number of hands, highest total winning.
